At LEAD Academy, we offer organizations and individuals a cost effective way to develop their leadership potential with courses that provide though-provoking content and opportunities to think deeply about their own experiences and apply what they are learning immediately. Learning is enhanced through coaching and community learning.
Sitcom Lessons in a Leadership World Mini course FREE Based on the topics covered in Reeves and Schuster, this mini course takes you a bit deeper into the best practices related to Change, Communication, Negotiation, Innovation, and Decision-Making as well as a final reflection on the importance of servant leadership. We have selected a few lessons from our LEAD Academy courses that emphasize the importance of identifying the drivers and barriers common in most work environments.

“Reeves in the Dugout” Professor Schuster must quickly transform the school’s frisbee players into a baseball team days before a high-stakes game.
Thriving in Change Explore change at the individual, organizational, and community level. We start with a foundational understanding of the change process and explore adoption stages and behavioral preferences. We then look at leadership approaches to overcome common resisters to change, build confidence among the team, and gain commitment across the organization and the community.

“Reeves, the Middle Man” With the Professor bed ridden, Reeves must step up to deliver his lectures on (what else?) effective communication on the same day the Dean pays an unscheduled visit.
Communicating with Impact Examine the communication process in many environments, including informal office dialogues and more formal presentations. Each of our best practices will highlight the communication process from the audience’s perspective and the challenges of getting our message heard in an environment suffering from information overload. We will also explore how our communication styles and preference can create problems and how to broaden our range of
communication approaches.

“Reeves Fights the Power” With Reeves and Schuster on opposite sides of a faculty strike, they will have to independently find a solution before the whole campus melts down.
Creating Desirable Outcomes in Negotiations and Conflict Investigate the dynamics of conflicts and negotiating situations and present proven approaches from management classics like Getting to Yes and Crucial Conversations. You will use your own experiences to identify your negotiating tendencies and preferences. We will apply principles of behavioral science to develop effective and persuasive arguments that can overcome common barriers erected by both sides in a negotiation. A number of case studies and exercises will help you develop both the right perspective and right approaches to deal with a variety of negotiating styles and situations.

“Reeves Takes a Vacation” Attending a conference to identify innovative approaches to attract business investment provides the perfect venue for Reeves to enjoy the beach and Schuster to apply his
theories. Delivering Innovative Solutions Discover the creative process from both the individual and organizational perspectives and how we can all improve in this important discipline. You will have the opportunity to apply research findings and practical approaches through a variety of creative thinking techniques.

“Reeves at the Crossroads” Graduation means decision time and both Reeves and Schuster will need to learn their most important lesson to make the right decisions.
Discovering the Opportunity in Every Decision Analyze the components of effective decision making by looking at classic decision-making theory along with the exposure to iterative and integrative decision-making approaches. Participants will also be introduced to the DISC behavioral approach and thinking fallacies from Daniel Kahneman’s research to provide feedback on their own decision-making tendencies. These tools and principles will supply you with the practical insights to make the right decision in a variety of situations.
